Oak Sports Management signs John Taylor and L.V. Ware

Oak Sports Management is pleased to announce the signings of Seattle Mariners right-handed reliever John Taylor and Atlanta Braves outfielder L.V. Ware.

John Taylor, who spent last season pitching for the Clinton LumberKings of the Midwest League, signs with Oak Sports Management after being selected in the 2011 MLB Draft in the 22nd round. While attending the University of South Carolina, Jordan helped the Gamecocks win back-to-back NCAA National Championships in 2010 and 2011 while setting the schools single-season record for appearances with 50 (8-1 and 1.14ERA in 50 appearances).

L.V. Ware signs with Oak Sports Management after spending the last 4 seasons within the Atlanta Braves organization. Ware, who spent past seasons with the Mississippi Braves of the Southern League, has 84 career stolen bases. Frank Gailey traded from Toronto Blue Jays to Philadelphia Phillies

Oak Sports Management client Frank Gailey has been traded from the Toronto Blue Jays to the Philadelphia Phillies for OF Ben Francisco. Gailey, a native of Philadelphia, attended Archbishop Carroll High School and West Chester University. Last season, he helped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats win the Eastern League Championship while posting a combined 5-6 record with 2 saves. In 4 minor league seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays, Gailey was 23-15 with a 2.45 ERA in 304.1 IP (69 BB/293 K). In 2010, he also was named by MiLB.com as the Toronto Blue Jays Minor League Reliever of the Year.

Frank’s comments on being dealt to the Phillies: ”I wouldn’t have begun my baseball career if it wasn’t for the Blue Jays. They are a class act organization and I am thankful. I have learned a lot and it’s really a bitter sweet moment for me but I am very excited to get the opportunity to play for the team I grew up watching and rooting for. Pittsburgh Pirates RHP Ryan Beckman selected by Team World at ABL All-Star Game

Pittsburgh Pirates RHP Ryan Beckman has been selected by Team World in the inaugural ABL All-Star Game, which will take place on December 21st, 2011 and be aired by MLB Network. Beckman, who leads the league with 4 saves, has thrown in 9 games (13 innings) while having a 1.38 ERA (2 BB/13 K) and a 1-0 record for the Adelaide Bite.
